Texture and Patterns

On my walks, I often find something that captures my attention. I thought I would select some things that caught my attention and reflect on what made them Interesting to me.
I was visiting my daughter Amy and her family when I noticed their firewood pile. The different colors, patterns, and textures caught my attention. Each piece of wood tells a story of growth through its rings, like fingerprints of a tree's life.
There is a sense of visual satisfaction from the intricate pattern, hinting at human effort in organizing natural elements. Amy assures me there was no organizing of the woodpile
This section of a building wall caught my attention because of the patterns, colors, and textures of the geological materials.
The bark transforms from a simple tree covering into an intricate, abstract work of art. The lines and shapes create a pattern that caught my attention. At first glance, I thought it looked like a mountain’s peaks and valleys from above. The more I looked at the photo, the more it reminded me that this is an old tree that probably has many stories to tell if it was able to share.
This photo is a close-up of a telephone pole. It caught my attention because it looks like an abstract painting. Nature and time created these patterns, colors, and textures. It is fascinating that nature can create a calming visual experience.
This caught my attention because it looked like abstract art. It also looked like a desert floor from above. The photo reveals the intricate patterns that emerge as materials break down.
