Now for my first blog post.
We started the year in Kaua'i. I published some photos from that trip under the Work section of this website. I also posted on my Facebook page, which you can see by clicking the Facebook icon below.
Marcia and I enjoyed the trip, and we were not sad to miss the 24 inches of snow we got while we were gone. When we got back, there were perfect conditions for Bald Eagle photography. The Mississippi River was frozen over in this area except below the lock and dams. With snow cover and the river frozen over, the eagles congregate around the dams to fish. The eagles are much more active when it is cold because they need to eat more to keep warm. The first few days after we got back from Kaua'i it was below zero. It is not pleasant to be outside when it is that cold, but it is the best time to get pictures of the eagles fishing.
